David Shakow Early Career Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Clinical Psychology

Award Criteria
This award recognizes a clinical psychologist who earned their doctorate within the past 7 years and has made significant contributions to both science and practice.

Eligibility Extension
Applicants who took a professional leave of absence for family or medical reasons may request one additional year of eligibility (up to 8 years post-doctorate). This must be noted in the cover letter.

Award Benefits
Recipients receive up to $500 in travel support to attend the APA Convention.

Samuel M. Turner Early Career Award for Distinguished Contributions to Diversity in Clinical Psychology

Award Criteria
This award recognizes an early career psychologist who has made exemplary contributions to diversity in the field of clinical psychology.

Eligibility
Nominees must be within 7 years of earning their doctoral degree. Contributions can include research, service, practice, training, or any combination of these.

Theodore Blau Early Career Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Clinical Psychology (jointly with APF)

Award Criteria
This award honors a clinical psychologist for professional accomplishments that advance the practice of clinical psychology. Contributions may include:

• Promoting clinical practice through professional service

• Innovation in service delivery

• Novel application of applied research methods to practice

• Positive impact on health delivery systems

• Development of creative educational programs

• Other innovative activities advancing the profession

Eligibility
Nominees must be within 10 years of earning their doctoral degree. Applicants who took a professional leave for family or medical reasons may request an additional year of eligibility (up to 11 years post-doctorate), which must be noted in the cover letter.

Award Benefits
Recipients receive $4,000.
