Overview.
This webinar will review the critical aspects of the therapeutic model and approach that is used in psychedelic-assisted therapy. The three main stages of PAT, preparation, dosing and integration sessions, will be defined and described. The importance of “set and setting” will also be illustrated. Lastly, the psychotherapeutic modalities that contribute to the PAT approach will be explored, which include relational therapy, humanistic and Rogerian client-centered therapy, as well as a central focus on cultural humility.

- Discuss the stages of psychedelic assisted therapy and the importance of each stage in the arc of PAT
- Describe the role of therapists/facilitators in supporting an inner-directed process and a paradigm shift that de-centers practitioners’ as experts
About the Presenter.
Dr. Chantelle Thomas, Executive Clinical Director of Windrose Recovery, is a Clinical Health Psychologist specializing in the treatment of addiction and trauma. Since 2013, she has been studying the therapeutic use of psychedelics for individuals with PTSD, substance use disorders, and depression via clinical and mechanistic research trials at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is certified in both MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and established Integrata, an integrative KAP treatment program that implements a relational, inner-directed model for trauma reprocessing for both residential and outpatient clients. She is directly involved in teaching, training, and consulting with clinical trials in the academic and private sector involving LSD, MDMA, Psilocybin, Ketamine, and 5-MeO-DMT. She also hosts a podcast, Blind Spots: Exploring What We Cannot See, that explores therapeutic blind spots in both established and novel treatments for substance use and trauma-related conditions.
