- Identify the empirically supported applicant factors that predict interview selection and ranking decisions by internship training sites, and how to show them.
- Construct a strategic an individualized internship application, including site selection strategies and personal statement framing, using evidence-based recommendations.
- Evaluate their own readiness and fit across internship settings by applying a structured framework for comparing training opportunities
About the Presenter:
Dr. Paul B. Ingram is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at Texas Tech University and a licensed psychologist and has served in various roles related to assessment in Division12 for the last decade. Most of hus work focuses on psychological assessment development, especially with the MMPI and other personality instruments. He also examines graduate training and internship readiness for health service psychologists. He has explored national training patterns in psychological assessment, as well as factors related to internship selection, ranking, and “fit.” He has repeated served as his program’s Internship Readiness Coordinator and done trainings for APA Division 12 and CUDCP in support of health service psychology training. Ultimately, his training research centers on promoting competency and preparing for internship.
