Overview.
This webinar will focus on the unique considerations regarding the therapeutic relationship in psychedelic-assisted therapy. It will address the heightened potential for transference and countertransference when working with non-ordinary states of consciousness and how to navigate these experiences thoughtfully and carefully. Presenters will also discuss considerations of power dynamics while working with psychedelic substances in addition to important principles in creating an effective and safe therapeutic psychedelic experience.

About the Presenter.
Jason Butler, Ph.D. (he/him), is a professor of Integral Counseling Psychology at CIIS. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and supervisor at Sage Integrative Health, specializing in depth-oriented ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. He has written several articles and book chapters focused on the intersection of depth psychology and social justice as well as a book entitled Archetypal Psychotherapy: The Clinical Legacy of James Hillman. He is also a co-editor and contributing author of an edited volume entitled Integral Psychedelic Therapy: The Non-Ordinary Art of Psychospiritual Healing.
